Panax ginseng

Panax ginseng
Remedy code: 3-666.55.11
A woman of 62 years, friendly and composed, somewhat reserved, concrete, always getting to the point without being impersonal. She has been coming regularly for 25 years, but now there's a gap of five years. It's nothing new; her sleep is poor. She falls asleep quickly, but around 2 a.m., she's wide awake and remains alert for an hour (in the past, this improved after Geum urbanum, based on tension in the relationship). She dreams a lot, of things that don't work out. Sometimes she wakes up in between and then feels very warm, sweating a lot, so I have to cool down. Grouchy due to lack of sleep. If she's been grouchy in recent years, her thyroid is working too slowly. Blood tests because she was tired and listless showed: thyrax, cholesterol, and sugar levels are increasing. This worries her, as there's a lot of diabetes in the family (and her previous partner died from it). Five years ago, the company was taken over, and it went dramatically. She can explode at home over nothing. At work, things are going well, and the children are doing fine too. She is stiff. For a year now, her right ear has been bothering her; it itches and is sensitive, then it radiates to the neck and jaw. Tired, and dragged, but once I started walking outside, everything was fine. It's been like this for a year, sometimes it's fine for a few weeks. At the time, the company was taken over, a new team without atmosphere, all young people competing, thinking they knew better; there was a lot of unrest and gossip about nothing. Departments merged; she used to do almost everything with her boss, but now she's being ignored. There's irritation, having to delegate things. 'Do I stay here or do I quit, but just a few more years and then retirement.'

Analysis
Everything is fine at home; sleep has been a problem for years: what is now the cause of being too alert? An outstanding theme is 'just holding on,' maintaining a position, fitting for Stage 11. Tension building up and internalizing it fit with Phase 5; the charge is also Stage 11, stiffness Stage 11. Her ideas, her independent functioning at work, the theme of Gold series, is at stake, the theme of Phase 5,6, and causing tension: Phase 5. Combining Stage 11 and Phase 5, from this point find a family with these characteristics. Theme Araliales: strong competition, autonomy, they want control over life and themselves. Here ‘competition’ is a theme, a burden. Fully enjoying, being capable. Araliaceae complement this with Phase 5 aspects: they want to matter, not just hang around; they are capable and vital. Stage 11 fits with maintaining your position, enduring, and holding back.
Prescription: Panax Ginseng MK.

Follow-up
After three weeks she reports that everything is going very well; she's sleeping well again, no more outbursts; it was already good the next day. No more strange dreams. Her mood was better after a few days too. She is more relaxed and feels better. Better energy, she's walking more. The right ear is much better, only occasionally bothering her now. She's still stiff, but it goes away after exercising. Night sweats are less. The symptoms stay away for years after this.
Remarkable was the ear complaint; not much was asked about it, but later, several rubrics were examined where Ginseng prominently appeared: pain, bruised right ear (7 remedies), sleeplessness in the middle part of the night (4 remedies), aversion to small talk (4 remedies). The keynotes or clues are hidden in the story or the history, not always recognizable, but with the help of the themes, you get close, and then it can click. Based on the knowledge of Classes and Phases and Stages, of Plant families or repertory entries, you come to a responsible and effective prescription.
