Panax ginseng
Remedy code: 3-665.55.11
A six-year-old girl has ENT and respiratory problems. From birth to two years old, she received antibiotics 10 times; she always had middle ear infections, often coughing, barking cough, and frequently used inhalation. After tonsillectomy, she rarely fell ill for a while. In the past year, she has experienced a lot of coughing again, colds, and middle ear infections, and received 2 courses of antibiotics again. She catches every virus, and often experiences ear pain (no discharge), sore throat, and cold with coughing: she lies awake at night, coughing deeply. This week, she has had a fever of 40°C for five days. She has had a cough for months, to the point of retching, a dry cough, all night long. With a cold, she becomes deaf. The edges of her tongue are red (indicating irritation or over-stimulation of the lymph system). She is always very busy, and wants to do everything at once and everything for only 5 minutes; she lacks concentration. She finds everything enjoyable and wants to do whatever she thinks of at that moment. The eldest child, she has a younger sister. "She's spirited, sometimes she seems like she's 12, very wise." Very eager to learn, also at school, where she needs challenges; it seems like she doesn't understand it and keeps asking questions. She taught herself to read (which wasn't taught at school yet), and she smells and tastes a lot of toys. She feels so quickly left behind, always has to win, and can't handle losing: then things fly around the room. She is fair, helps children, returns lost toys, for example. She plays with everyone; she can mother the younger ones and look up to the older ones. Give her an inch, she takes a mile, if she can twist you round her finger; The mother is very clear about this and keeps her on a short leash, forbids things frequently, and uses a stern voice but without emotional charge or frustration; the child responds remarkably to it: as if mother has a remote control. She talks smart, asking things of her mother, glancing back, making contact quickly and efficiently, almost as if she's a spectator rather than a participant (this is a Lanthanide aspect). The mother is also alert and clear. Familial on the mother's side: irritable bowel, COPD, eczema, bronchitis, and hay fever. Pregnancy: it took a while to get pregnant, there was no ovulation; the mother often went to the hospital for ‘forced’ examinations. First a miscarriage, three months later this pregnancy. The entire period, she was very nervous, 'would it go well this time.' It was a good time, but very nauseous; birth was 3 weeks early, a good start, breastfeeding. During the consultation, the child listens with wise eyes, unaffected but absorbing this information like a sponge. Mother treats her as an equal, despite the child's playful behavior; 'What do you think, go ahead', she speaks very matter-of-factly. She always demands a lot of attention; you can have a conversation with her, but she has to have it herself. She had difficulty with bowel movements; they had to guide her, used a lot of enemas at the beginning, had to pay attention to it every day, then it worked. The child eats anything when the mother tells her to, prefers candy, bread, and cookies. Until three years old, it was a drama to fall asleep; from 8 months to three and a half years: crying, and screaming to fall asleep, the only remedy was to let her cry for half an hour, and then she slept well. Now a lot of tossing in her sleep. She is very competitive towards children, but towards grandma: 'You can win.' You notice when she's tired, she doesn't know when to stop, no boundaries. She dances, does gymnastics, is an outdoor child, and goes biking a lot. What do you want to be: she thinks, looking ahead, and then answers: a ballerina, and I want to be a mommy. She keeps chattering, very impulsive (not the reflexive behavior of birds, Birds as a medicinal group, more the quick response because she understands everything immediately). She wants more and looks up to older children. She is free and open, feels at home with everyone, enthusiastic, and restless. Wants to do everything alone, in the store she says: 'Mommy, you wait outside, I'll do it myself.' She knows what she's playing, that she's playing a role, and is aware of it; when she's in her imagination, mother plays along very matter-of-factly. Mother seems very receptive to impressions, a kind of softness, but also self-assured and determination (which is certainly needed in parenting), as the second pregnancy this girl resembles her mother. She has an imagination, but she doesn't use it at home; there she reacts and plays very intellectually. Quickly gets bored, pushes and complains, and goes outside to play. During the consultation, she kicks against my shoe, remaining: sophisticated and challenging. She is present and helpful. After an insect bite, an abscess in the back of the knee. Neodymium muriaticum (challenges, care, mother) gives two weeks of improvement, then it relapses. China officinalis does nothing.

Analysis
Gold series6: Campanulidae due to the Lanthanide aspects, similar to Asteraceae. Until the second year, many infections: Asteraceae. From the fourth, respiratory tract, fever. With Asteraceae, placed in Phase 4, you expect more aspects with the theme of 'vulnerability', and the stability or steadfast of Phase 4
Phase 5: Enthusiastic, turbulent, always wanting more, competitive, wanting to win, explosive, restless. Parents insist, tension in intestines, pregnancy wanted, and ‘forced’, and forced examinations.
Gold series6, Phase 55: Araliaceae are known for competition, coughing, and worsening in the evening.
Stage 11: is it still going well (pregnancy situation, also consider Phase 2), tenacious.
Prescription: Panax Ginseng C200 one dose.

Follow-up
After six weeks the night time coughing was completely gone after two nights, it lasted for four months. Now she sleeps through the night, is now toilet trained at night, and wakes up in the morning to urinate. Still restless in bed during sleep, the cot is needed to prevent her from falling out. She still occasionally complains of ear pain in the morning or evening, but it's over after a few minutes. Occasionally a cough, the right submandibular gland enlarged (means working hard, and with good result), tip of the tongue is red (meaning mucous activity ENT). Behavior still unstoppable, falling asleep goes well, she does try tricks—mother means an excuse to postpone going to bed ('I'll stand on my hands against the wall', she says when she hears the word trick during the consultation; clearly cannot place it: the reaction of a child, she is less 'adult'). No cough, not been sick for six weeks: wait and see. The following years went well.
