Hypericum perforatum

Hypericum perforatum
Remedy code: 3-644. 13.08
A 55-year-old woman, she has a strong appearance and is present and firm but not intrusive. She wears colorful clothing, heavy makeup, and fake nails. It was a mentally tough year; work stopped, her dog died this summer, and her parents were admitted, one due to dementia, and the other remained in a coma for weeks due to incorrect anesthesia. It was a shock; she was in survival mode. Now, she experiences menopausal symptoms. She doesn't want to see a psychologist; she's had a bad experience and finds herself too stubborn. A few years ago, she experienced hypotensive episodes due to a stressful period at work, leading to fainting; it developed into a fear of being around people. When she entered a restaurant, she wanted to leave immediately. Hot flashes make her feel very uncomfortable; she prefers lying down. They start from her toes and move upwards to her head. She also experiences joint pain in her hands, arms, and sometimes feet, along with tingling. It's not severe, but it bothers her. She also has mood swings, feeling nervous when she has to go somewhere, like for groceries. She's not the most cheerful; they say 'You don't shine.' Before her parents became ill, she also experienced some menopausal symptoms; she became depressed after stopping the pill. Now she can't enjoy anything; she just sits on the couch. She worked at the gym, which was the meeting place in the village, but now, her entire social circle has collapsed. It used to be so enjoyable, and fun, with lots of chatter. Now she gets nervous when she has to do something; there's a bubbling feeling inside her; she feels somewhat paralyzed; there's no financial pressure to do anything, but she wants to achieve goals, taking care of her parents is also a goal. Stress, for her, is when her parents argue; she feels stuck in the middle, unable to do anything about it. She considers herself a doer, always trying to find solutions. She's not a complainer; she doesn't want to whine too much to her family. Her spinal vertebrae were worn out years ago due to sports; she has high eye pressure; she used to have endometriosis; in her youth, she was so sick before her periods; that she would pass out from the pain. She's independent, a doer, and wants to take action. All the fun things have come to a halt. She sleeps well, with many dreams. She wants to have everything under control. Until a year ago, she had a carefree life. Now, with her parents, she tries to keep all the balls in the air. It takes a lot of energy; she doesn't feel like doing many things; grocery shopping feels like a 'must.' Her joints are stiff in the morning. When she wakes up, she's negative; everything seems heavier.

Analysis
Iron series: She wants to take action, be decisive, and contribute to society; caring for her parents is a 'project.' Her world was the village, the gym, the group. She wants to enjoy life, which is known from the Fabales. Uncertain about how to do this; there's still a lot to achieve; working towards something:
Phase 1: The foundation, the Phase, as a sociable person, makes you think of Phase 5, but her spontaneity, panic, 'swings,' fainting, and idealism also fit Phase 1.
Stage 8: Hard work, perseverance, forcing. Known from Hypericum: standing between arguing parents, doing your utmost, wanting to be the best, and panicking.
Prescription: Hypericum perforatum C200.

Follow-up
After five weeks she's doing well, feeling better, and experiencing fewer hot flashes. Her neck wasn't as stiff; it had been like that for fifteen years. She no longer feels the stiffness in her hands. Stress is still present, especially with her parents deteriorating. Now, she can regroup once practical tasks are done, and there's more to come. Terminal care can overwhelm her mind. If she wakes up early, she starts worrying; she never wakes up feeling cheerful. The following year remains good. Iridium metallicum provided brief relief but worsened the joint pain.
