English: Whip spiders; Tailless whip scorpions.
Name: Amblypygid means blunt tail, blunt rump.
Genera: 17; 155 species; 5 families.
Region: worldwide.
Habitat: tropical and subtropical regions, warm and humid environments; protected and hidden within leaf litter, caves, or underneath bark; some are subterranean;
during the day, they may hide under logs, bark, stones, or leaves.

Zoology
Amblypygi are nocturnal; they possess very small, tail-like, terminal, opisthosmal segments and use a sort of "tail" to hang from while molting but actually lack a flagellum
They are harmless to humans, have no silk glands or venomous fangs. They rarely bite if threatened, but can grab fingers with their pedipalps, resulting in thorn-like puncture injuries.
