6.13 Neodymium fluoratum case

A young man of 18 years of age has backache. He has stitching pain when working too hard at a supermarket, especially in the afternoon. It’s better when he’s distracted and doesn't think of it. He doesn't like his work in the supermarket; he would prefer to work as a security officer but he’s too young for the training for that. He also tried to go into the army but he was rejected because of his back problems that were diagnosed as Scheuerman’s disease. After that he had several jobs, in cleaning companies and in road construction. He didn't like those jobs, but he has limited opportunities, because he never completed secondary school.
He can feel quite insecure. That’s why he does a lot of fitness training and boxing. He wants to be strong and have big muscles. He feels himself ugly and thinks that he will look better with bigger muscles. He also trains in boxing and free fighting. He wants to be the strongest, so that no one can defy him, so that he’s a match for anyone. He likes boxing. But he’s too kind-hearted so that he has a fear of hurting the opponent. But he wants to prove himself. He has never been the top dog and with boxing he wants to show that he’s the best. He gains self-confidence when he wins. He wants to prove that he can be good at something. He wants to become world champion. He feels reborn after being in the ring but everyone wants to hold him back, including his mother and his trainer. They see him as naively fearless and are anxious that he will be beaten by a stronger guy. He sees fighting as a fight against crime, to improve the world and to protect people. He would shoot drug criminals.
He feels miserable about his life. There’s nothing to feel happy about. He has no nice job, earns little money and has no girlfriend. He wants to have a girlfriend. He wants to earn a lot of money so that people won’t start fighting with him. At school he was teased as “fat”. After some years of eating little and training he became the strongest of the class and started bullying others. He grabbed the guy that had teased him the most and squeezed his throat. He’s very strong-willed. He stopped school at 16 on his own decision, whatever his parents told him. He’s very much on his own, not saying much to his parents and others.
He sees when people lie by looking them in the eyes.
Dream: persecuted.
Dream: boxing and not being able to beat the opponent, his punches don’t affect the opponent at all.
Dream: fighting with people with a violin, he wins and starts playing on the violin.
He has stitching pains in his left wrist from time to time.
He has recurrent throat infections, << cold, with the right tonsil swollen, a lump feeling and redness in the throat. Together with that he can have earache, stitching, like a knife and pulsating. He has recurrent coryza, with his nose full and having to blow a lot.
He has shoulder pain, left side, < lying on it.

Weather: heat.
Desire: milk cold (3) spaghetti, fruit, vitamins.
Aversion: fat, sweets (he has to lose weight), meat.
Analysis
His complaints are connected to his low social position. He feels insecure about his body and does fitness and boxing training. These are Fluorine themes. Fluorine is also seen in the desire to have a girlfriend and to earn more money. Fluorine can also be seen in the isolated (Stage 17) position in school. And he wants to fight crime (Fluorine).
He tries to gain self-respect (Carbon series) by trying to be very good at something, in this case boxing. He wants to be the best in the world. This reminds us of the Silver series. But there’s more to it. There’s also the aspect of wanting to improve the world, which points to the Lanthanides. He sees when people lie by looking them in the eyes. This is also very much like the sensitive quality of the Lanthanides. They look behind the façade, right into the inner world of others and themselves.
In his process he’s at Stage 6, where he hasn't reached his goal and wants to prove himself. This aspect of “proving” came to the fore after he had been given Lanthanum fluoratum. The Lanthanum was chosen for his feeling of insecurity. The dream of not being able to hit the opponent is also an indication of a stage in the left side of the periodic table, Stage 2 to 9.
Together this leads to Neodymium fluoratum.

Follow up
After Neodymium fluoratum MK his backache disappeared in a week. He felt very good and he stopped thinking of work as a security officer. He didn't care about that anymore. He got a girlfriend that he got on well with. His mother noticed that he was much more quiet and open. He wasn't running down others anymore. He was planning more for the future, relaxed about his own opinion and more grown up. They could be cozy together. It was a really big change.
Previously Lanthanum fluoratum MK was prescribed. After that remedy he soon felt better and less insecure. He had the feeling that his body would be fine and was less worried about it. He also felt more at ease with girls. After some 3 months he stopped smoking tobacco. He stopped seeing friends that were using drugs, seeing them as losers. But the back pain got worse after six months and 3 repetitions of the Lanthanum fluoratum. He had the dream of fighting and being unable to strike the opponent.
He had been in treatment since the age of 3 from time to time. His complaints were warts, abdominal pains, constipation, diarrhea, throat infections, ear inflammations, influenza, cramps in the calves, headache and learning problems. He had been given: Barium carbonicum, Ipecacuanha, Thuja, Antimonium crudum, Lycopodium, Cichorium intybus, Lithium phosphoricum, Spigelia, Podophyllum, Cobaltum phosphoricum, Sulphur, Lappa arctium, Syphilinum, Tussilago farfara, Ambra grisea, Natrum carbonicum, Bacillinum, Cina, Cuprum muriaticum, Fluoricum acidum and Scandium.
