666.44.01 Liatris spicata, Case
Woman, 40, Crohn’s disease.
She has Crohn’s disease for 15 years. It often comes in attacks with high fever of 40°, pain in her abdomen, diarrhoea, nausea and sweating. It is worse with hot weather and in the morning around 7 am. The stool is thin and sometimes bloody and is worse with stress of relationships and during her pregnancy. She once had a fistule when she was travelling a lot.
She is often weak and tired. She would like to become pregnant but that is not easy because her condition is not good. Her appetite is diminished an in the past she had stomach problems with vomiting. She has had arthritis which was worse after pregnancy and better in the Sea. She is prone to anaemia.
As a child she felt lonely. Her parents had a difficult relationship and were fighting a lot. She felt like she was in between them. The parents involved the children in their problems and she had the feeling she was supposed to dislike the other parent. In her puberty her parents divorced. Since then she has the feeling that her relationships are painful for everyone, her mother, her grandmother. This is more so because her boyfriends were not accepted by her mother and grandmother. Her mother criticises her often. Already as a little child they were fighting a lot. Her mother hated her father and was jealous of her relationship with her father, telling her that she was like her father. She gave her the feeling she did not love her and she wanted to leave home. She hated her mother and so she withdrew in her own room and was mostly away from home.
She is easily stressed, difficult for herself and her husband. She is angry most of the time because life is too short. She would like to be stronger and to help herself. She is always taking care of others and forgetting herself. There are many opposites in her like being strong and weak. She is very perfectionistic and has the feeling she is not doing well enough. She is closed when she is in pain. She cannot change, cannot forget what she felt in the past. It is like a stream of water that cannot change.
She likes people and family. She likes to be at home and has an aversion to be away from home. She likes music, music is alive. She has a fear of hospitals, of penetrations like coloscopy, which she finds more disturbing than helping.
Pregnancy was difficult; she had bloody diarrhoea, anaemia and one sided headache which was better by rest and dark. Labour was difficult, she had contractions for two weeks and felt very weak. She was treated with painkillers and remedies to promote the labour. She had a fear of the pain and did not know where she was, whishing that God would come and take her.
