Taxonomy
The Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 placed Cystopteridaceae in the suborder Aspleniineae of the order Polypodiales.Alternatively, it may be treated as the subfamily Cystopteridoideae of a very broadly defined family Aspleniaceae.
