666.45.09 Conyza canadensis, Case
Girl, 6, cystitis.
A girl of six has frequent cystitis, already nine times. Antibiotics do not help. She has cramping, burning pain during urination and had to bend double with the pain. Urination is frequent. She has nephritis with fever of 40°C. She is sad, weepy, dependent, clinging to her mother, anxious and absent minded when ill. It often starts after loss of sleep, coryza or when her resistance is lowered like on a long journey. The specialists have diagnosed it as a pattern of waiting too long to urinate. Her mother and maternal grandmother also have a history of cystitis.
She has frequent coryza, especially in winter, worse from swimming in a pool with chlorine. With coryza she breathes with mouth open, cannot breathe from thick, tenacious mucus. Her ears get obstructed when she has nasal coryza. She retains stool too long, as she does urine and then gets abdominal pains, which can lead to vomiting.
Her conception and pregnancy were difficult. Her mother had blood loss in the 3rd month, which turned out to be placenta praevia. When seven months pregnant her mother began to bleed again from a loose placenta. The birth had to be a Caesarian section due to the placenta praevia. Her mother felt displeased and restless and did not like it in hospital. Birth was premature, so the child had to go to a different hospital in an incubator. Her mother was very upset to lose the contact with her child, who she could not see for five days. She felt she was not taken seriously by the doctors.
She is shy with strangers but at home she can be sparkling and radiant. She is very introverted, even more so when ill. She has difficulty expressing herself. She must be allowed to continue what she is doing. If she is interrupted when speaking, she does not know where she was and has to start again from the beginning of the story. She cannot do two things at once: putting on clothes and telling a story.
She has a fear of failure when she begins new things. She prefers to do things alone, though it takes three times as long as when someone helps. She is very organised, everything is in it is proper place.
Peculiar is that she is a brave, courageous girl who is with big difficult things like diagnostic tests but small with little things, like scraping her knee, she has dramas of weeping.
She has a younger brother, who also had a difficult pregnancy with Caesarian again. Her mother had to stay in the hospital for one month. She had to stay with her grandmother and she became distant to her mother; only when she is at home can she give her mother a hug.
Dreams: unpleasant about monsters. She does not want to talk about it because she feels they will come back more easily if she talks about it.
Weather: chilly, > in sun.
Time: < 7 pm.
Sweat: quite a lot, mostly in bed.
Desire: fish !, lasagna, pancakes.
Aversion: beans and peas.

Follow up
Half an hour after Conyza canadensis MK she became ill with abdominal pain, nausea and pain around umbilical region, worse stretching, with a lot of yawning. It lasted 1.5 hours. Then she was much better. She has no more coryza, cystitis or influenza. Her stool is much better but she still had to be reminded to go to the toilet. She is much more sparkling and cheerful. She was much less timid; she talked to a stranger who came to the door for a long time, telling him stories.
The remedy repeated six times: in a month, again two months later when the coryza returned and on return of symptoms in six months.
