Aristotelia peduncularis

Habitat: understorey of wet forests; moist and shady; on mountain slopes, in fern gullies.
Botany
Straggly, woody monoecious shrub;slender arching branche; 1.5 metres high.
Leaves: ovate to lanceolate; toothed margins; opposite, alternate, or in whorls of three; 2 to 7 centimetres.
Inflorescence: singly or long peduncles at axils.
Flowers: bisexual; white, with pink-purple markings inside; campanulate; petals triple-lobed, forming a fringe; bloom in summer.
Fruit:fleshy, roughly heart shaped berry; deep purple-black through to red, pink and white.
