Region: tropical Africa, Cameroon through Central African Republic, DR Congo to Uganda, south to Angola, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Habitat: dry evergreen forest and rain forest, thicket; seasonally flooded gallery forest; fringing vegetation; from 320 to 1800 metres.
Use: wood for poles, bows, tool handles, spoons, fuel; tree for amenity and bee forage

Botany
Shrub or a much-branched tree; up to 9 metres tall; bole branches from low down.
Pollination: bees
