Salix fragilis

Salix fragilis

A 46-year-old man who has been suffering from fatigue, poor digestion, and mood swings for years. He is very preoccupied with this, always searching for improvement. He is both optimistic and dissatisfied. He is always “working” on problems, searching for solutions. He works as a sports instructor and needs a lot of action. He has had heel spurs several times, inflammation of the elbow, and energy deficiency. He has had these kinds of issues for years. But now it is a general malaise. The reason for coming now is the right Achilles tendon, which prevents him from expending his energy, making him irritable and less energetic. Years ago, he had heel spurs on the right, then on the left, and now on the right again. He had been experiencing discomfort for four months, but during the summer break, he was fine. Now, after two training sessions, he is no longer able to continue, and he does not want his hobby to interfere with his work. The attachment is painful, extending to the bottom of the foot, and the other attachments are also very sensitive. He feels that he is getting older, but he wants to continue with everything. He experiences muscle pain more frequently and for longer periods of time. Energy: As long as he can do his thing, he's fine. It's a form of ‘pre-stress’. His sleep is restless, with the familiar fight dreams, lots of action, and he is the hero. He regularly has loose stools. He regularly has hypoglycemia and has to eat dark chocolate, which helps. Many of his colleagues at work are stressed, which indirectly affects him. It is still the best job in the world. He is not going to change that. His colleagues are sick or stressed out, the groups are merging, and he feels like he doesn't quite belong yet. There is a lot of complaining, not to each other, but people are unhappy. It breaks his heart that his colleagues are suffering. A good friend of mine is stressed out. He is very aware of all this tension; he wants to distance himself, but that doesn't work: you are part of it. All his life, he has felt different, even at school. Not belonging, he deals with things differently; he is very direct and honest. You want to belong somewhere, and he has found that in sports. What worries him about the tendon is that it is not getting better. After Petivera-tetandra, he had a few days of increased pain, had no energy for anything, and had to drag himself around. After that, he was fine on workdays, but at home, he was completely exhausted, regained his effervescent energy, and started running again at full speed: that went completely wrong after one day, and he was in pain for days. And he was back to his old level. In recent weeks, he has been feeling ‘pent-up energy’ again, which is driving the people around him crazy, and he is irritable. This is causing friction at home. After a few beers, he has more pain and becomes stiffer. He already has trouble getting up. Morning stiffness, after sitting, he has to stretch, which causes a burning pain. The heel spur on the right ‘screams’ louder, the left one is not quite right. In the past, he often had violent dreams, which were very active. When he is tired, his stools are loose, but when he is well, they are fine. In this situation, his tolerance and my patience, his flexibility, are reduced. For example, in traffic, he is irritated by incompetent people. When he started running again, he was euphoric, wonderful, “I'm addicted,” “pushing the limits,” that fight. The relationship is not good; it goes up and down, which is also like an inflammation. It doesn't feel right, the undertone is not good. He keeps thinking about it a lot. We have to invest a lot. ’ They often argue, but we are good parents (this has been going on for years, his parents separated after a lot of conflict, his motto was always: that won't happen to us, for the children's sake).

Analysis
Series 4: Work as a theme. Control (very present towards the children), ‘working’ on the relationship.
Fabidae: continuing as a theme (both the solution and the stressful factor), digestion and defecation, sugar metabolism, tendons (connective tissue), bad energy. Much falls under the Spleen Qi as mentioned in TCM. Practical, the effect of your actions as a person, work, relationship, and family.
Phase 3: not quite fitting in, tension, not being able to reach the solution. Adapting, adjusting (within the relationship, within work). Not quite in the right place.
Phase 1: mood swings, exhaustion, short-tempered. Never felt like he belonged.
Previously, we saw themes from the Rosaceae theme and the Fabales theme. The marriage has been difficult for some time, and not good. Because his parents divorced with a lot of misery for the children, his attitude is: we will not do that.
Stage 12: Searching for and fighting for solutions, dreaming about fighting, repetition, restlessness (compare zinc and merc).
D. Bown, (Herbs) on Salix fragilis: Symbol of abandonment and sorrow. Fragilis is a crack willow.
Prescription: Salix fragilis MK

Follow-up
After six weeks: “That was a shock, a bull's eye.” The first week, he had a nosebleed every day, which he also had as a boy. It always started in the shower, and if he skipped that, it would happen later in the morning. At the same time, he had more energy. The first few days, his stools were thinner, a few times a day. The Achilles tendon is doing very well. Lately, he has had an energy, a feeling in his head that “something important is happening, but what, I've forgotten.” Something unsettling, he has to do something. At home, they say: go for a walk, do something. He has enough energy, but it's as if it still needs to be channeled. Sleeping is always fine; he lies down and sleeps. A dream: something with action, not something disturbing. The tendons are still a bit stiff in the morning after getting up, and a little after exercising, but no longer painful; he no longer walks with a limp. Last month, he still had pent-up energy, now it's something ‘unheimlich’, and that is slowly diminishing. Fainting in the car (for which he used dark chocolate) has only happened twice during this period, no longer daily. He also came home late twice without eating, now without any complaints, and he no longer has hypoglycemia. His bowel movements are better, rarely loose. In recent weeks, he has had a constant runny nose, watery.
