LILIUM TIGRINUM Case 1.10: female, 32 years old

A 32-year-old woman comes in May 1991 with symptoms of fatigue and depression since childbirth, 1.5 years ago. "I haven't recovered since the birth of my son". It is her first child. It was cut at the time of the birth and re-stitched after 6 weeks. A lot of pain in the vagina, worse walking and sitting.
"Tears kept coming. Feeling as if I had been thrown into a pit from which I could no longer escape". She went back to work four months after the birth, barely succeeded, very tired. Works at a nursery. Continued to have pain in the vagina with walking and sitting. According to the midwife she had a post-natal depression.
Sometimes a slight feeling in the head, fear of falling away.
Pain in the vagina, saggy and heavy feeling. Many suffer from the scar of the epi. Hardly any sexual energy.
Pregnancy and childbirth
Pregnancy: hypersensitive to odours, e.g. at butchers. Found toilets of others stink.
Childbirth: she found contractions very difficult and exhausting. Lost a lot of blood: "I was in the blood". Finds the internal examination very annoying, inclined to hit gynecologist.
Menses
Menarche: 15 years old.
Before the birth: a lot of blood loss during menstruation. Duration: sometimes 2 weeks. Not much pain. Cycle very irregular.
Sedert partus: regular cycle. Menses: not much blood loss. First day: a lot of pain in the pubic bone, feeling as if the uterus is being pushed out. Then presses against it, walks back and forth.
Rarely migraine during menses: she bumped into people, could no longer estimate distances. Severe pain in the temples, like a tight bond. Stars in front of the eyes.
Generals
Loves the outdoors, walks every day. Loves the sun. Cold.
Desires/aversions:
Desires: liquorice, chocolate, savoury, ice cream, fish.
Aversion: sour, turnip, fat, cabbage.
Little thirst.
Mind
Always busy, book reading or knitting.
Diligent and perfectionist.
Hasty feeling when waking up.
After childbirth: felt abandoned, not supported by a man.
Biography
Youngest of 5 children, as a child spontaneously. Changed in puberty, didn't dare to do anything. Old parents, a lot of work (had a shop). She was much alone at home. Felt excluded by parents, as if she was a stranger. Parental house full of antiques, "as a child you couldn't play". Mother disapproved of everything, "you could never do it right".
Often silent, afraid that others thought she was stupid.
Prescriptions and reactions:
Several remedies partially helped: Pulsatilla 200K, Sepia 200K. After Sepia 200K she suffered from sciatica, pain from the lower back radiating to the left calf. Better by lying down (3). Wake up from the pain around 2.00 am.
Uterine prolapse feeling reduced.
Psychologically she feels bad: "feeling like I'm slowly going crazy". Fear that it won't be okay anymore.
Prescription: Calcarea 200K.
Reaction after 6 weeks: feels more relaxed, stays tired. New complaint: the feeling that her heart is squeezed by a fist.
Feeling of subsidence returns after two months.
New prescription: Lilium tigrinum 200K. After this treatment she is much better, both physically and mentally. Many dreams about childbirth after the drug.
