1.1 Case Aloe: a woman with abdominal complaints
The intake took place in September 1993. It concerns Mrs. M., a 55 year old woman with abdominal problems. - Spastic colon
- more bowel problems when she's nervous
- lots of noises and rumors
- pain extends to the back and to the left buttock
- belly swollen with a lot of gassing
- much bothered by flatulence, temporarily letting the winds do better for abdominal pain (2) - sometimes cramps, better by bending over (3) and counter-pressure (3)
- Worse because of tight clothing (3)
- worse from spicy and hot food (3)
- On waking up, pressure for relief quickly to the W.C., rubbish relief with mucus, "it's spraying out".
- No involuntary loss of stools
Also back problems, worse since the oldest son ended up in a wheelchair. Son had a car accident eight years ago. For a while he was in a coma with brain damage, paralysed on the left side. Time-long psychiatric admission due to schizophrenia.
Mother of 4 children, last children since 1,5 years out of the house.
Hospital period, son in a coma. Powerless feeling, as if she was standing with her back against the wall. "I had to keep myself up for my husband. Her husband could not cope with the situation emotionally, Mrs. M. took care of everything. She went to the hospital three times a day.
Son malnourished, decubitus, she held the hospital accountable. It took months for them to get compensation.
Later on his son became psychotic, wandering around (in a wheelchair) on HoogCatharijne, blowing. The worst thing she thought was
"that he was lying in his own shit on the street."
Third child (other son) many learning and school problems since accidental brother. Youngest - a daughter: stable.
With her second son hardly any contact because of an argument with her daughter-in-law. "She knows everything better". Tried in vain to build a bridge to her son.
Other complaints
Eczema left ear canal, external otitis, severe itching. Strongly thickened toenails, nail mycosis.
A lot of hot flushes since 15 years.
Generals
Warmly. Apart from hot flashes, there is little sweating.
Sun: quickly too hot.
Food and drinks
Fond of savory, meat, vegetables, fish and fruit. Aversion carrots.
Thirst: normal.
Analysis
According to Jan Scholten and Rienk Stuut, Aloe's theme is: you may not soil your own nest. The worst thing about her son was that he was lying on the street in his own dirt. Furthermore, the abdominal complaints fit Aloe.
