Saxifraga stolonifera
Synonym: Saxifraga ligulata
Indian: Pasanadheda
Thie plant grows in the Himalayas and was believed to break the rock in which it lived.
Saxifraga ligulata is used in Ayurvedic medicine in the (phytotherapeutic) remedy Cystone (a remedy for urinary problems). Saxifraga ligulata dissolves urinary stones by breaking down the mucine that glues the calculus together. It is also cardiotonic and depresses the central nervous system.
