622.46.04 Myristica fragrans, Case
A woman of 50 has been gradually going down the 10 years. She has periods of being very depressed and has developed tricks to get herself out of them, like running and bicycling. She is being treated with antidepressants. A year ago it was so bad she could not do anything and she was treated with light therapy. The last months it is really bad. She cannot do anything, feels very slow in her mind, the vision of her right eye is going down and she sees a strange grey line in front of her eye and her vision is foggy. She cannot concentrate well, confusing numbers and characters. She feels confused and has the feeling that her energy is leaking away. Her senses are going down, she does not hear well and her smell is dimished. She is dizzy, has a dry mouth and palpitations. She has pain as from a band around her waist, as if upper body and lower body are split, especially in her left abdomen.
The complaints started when she was living abroad in a high apartment building. She could not stand that, felt locked in and could not cope with the social duties. She was asking herself what she was doing there, she felt blocked and suicidal. Something broke in her. She felt confused and problems looked bigger than they were.
Solutions do not come into her mind. Her work room is in chaos. She is not clear in her mind. It makes her feel powerless, helpless, despairing and she withdraws in herself, does not have the courage to go outside. She talks slowly because it is difficult to think clearly. She is unsure and expressing herself is difficult. She has lost her grip on life, every day is a problem, emotions are dampened. She feels as if she is living in a glass bell, contacts are like vague signals. Talking is torture because she feels blocked. She cannot do nice things anymore. She feels she is a block for her husband. She despairs about the future.
A few years later she suffered a burn-out because she had to work too hard. For a year she could not work at all, after which she found a job in another office for three days a week.
Her mother was always ill, had a similar despair as she had, a similar picture. She did not have an overview. Her mother had been in a concentration camp in Indonesia where she had to take care of her children. There she got intestinal problems due to the food. Her mother was very sensitive, could play the piano very well. But she was too sensitive to her surroundings.
She married her first love, the great love of her youth but he died after two years from cancer. Then she had a year of depression. It never healed completely she says, there remains a hole, a wound that never closes.
Dream: normal living, work.
Dream: a stream in the mountains is diverted and flows through her tent.
Weather: -> beautiful weather.
Time: < morning till 10 pm, < after 7 pm.
Desire: bread with cheese, croquette potatoes, meatballs.
Aversion: red beef, fish, food in general.
Food: < brown beans, beans and peas.
Sleep: wakes frequently at 2 am.
Analysis
The main theme is that she is confused. She cannot think and concentrate well, shifts numbers and letters and her senses are diminishing. It started when she did not know what she was doing abroad. As if she did not know fully where she was. This is the theme of the Magnoliidae. Her mother was having the same situation and lacking an overview.
Her dizziness and dry mouth fit with Nux moschata.
We see the absent parent theme in the mother always being ill and depressed.
Follow up
