666.43.01 Lactuca virosa, Case
Man, 40, angina.
He has frequent, violent throat infections with dirty, thick, white mucus in the morning. The complaints continue the whole year. When it becomes severe he has pricking pain in his throat and a bitter taste, fever of 39° to 40° and an aversion to drinking, though cold drinks ameliorate. He is very ill, cannot do anything and has to go to bed and rest. He has sweating, cold shivering and muscle aches. The complaints are worse from one till five pm.
His abdomen feels bloated, he has frequent belching and a sharp abdominal pain in his left lower abdomen. This happens twice a month, in the evening or afternoon, from tensions at his work. It started after he stopped smoking. He was cutting losing weight and had little appetite.
He is frequently tired and needs much sleep. At 17 he had mononucleosis with difficult breathing. He was so sick that he ended up in hospital and they operated on his throat. He does not remember much of this.
He has broken his nose once and had a kidney stone.
He is the youngest of the children all of whom are half-sisters and half-brothers. His mother was not officially divorced from her previous husband yet. His father did not accept him as his son because she was not officially divorced yet. So he was given the name of the ex-husband of his mother. He had a different name than his father and mother. Due to this situation family visits were problematic, either for the father or for the mother. He never had visits to uncles and aunts. His parents were not very hospitable. He mostly went to play with friends. This seemed normal to him until he turned 17 and then he realised that it was strange. He asked himself if his father was his father, because his parents were never officially married.
Dream: he has to keep 100 cigarettes standing right up and when he succeeds to get the last one standing up, the first ones fall again.
