Case 1.19: VERATRUM ALBUM LINKS 1996
This case is of a small girl of 11 years. She passes stools involuntarily.

Her mother used to find little amount of stools sticking to her panties, especially when she comes home after playing. Her mother tried all measures, such as punishment and scolding, without any benefit. She goes to school in the morning and after school she goes to a baby sitter's house where she is the only child. She has never once complained about the baby sitter
Her general tendency is not to pass stool or to delay attending the call for stool. On her holidays she does not pass stool at all; but the involuntary stools are always present. Tendency for loud flatus only at night in her sleep.
• DESIRES: Fruits; Sour
• AVERSION: Rice; Milk
• APPETITE: Easy satiety: eats slowly.
• & WHILE EATING: Headache; vomiting suddenly, vomits & then sleeps, after which she is normal; pain in abdomen.
Has a ganglion in the wrist.
H/O: - Recurrent tonsillitis.
Measles: age 8 years; had a fever for 21 day continuously, during which the rash came & went away but the fever continued; She was given enema for constipation, passed stools & then her fever came down.
From the symptoms
• "Rectum; Flatus, at night".
• "Stomach; Vomiting, eating, while, sudden". • "Stomach; Desires fruit, acid".
Veratrum album MK 3 doses was given. (8 hrs. apart) After one week no change. S. L. was given for one week. Again no change. S. L. for two weeks.
Next visit - No involuntary stools for two weeks Her mother was at home for a vacation. so she stayed in the house. After 8 months - No involuntary stools; The ganglion has disappeared.
