Symphoria racemosa
Symphoricarpus racemosa
Case by Maarten van der Meer.
Remedy code: 3-666.65.05.
A man of 70, he talks directly and amicably, has always been in plant cultivation and trade, and gets to the point quickly. He has fierce pain in the neck. It is the muscles, if he looks down for a long time he cannot raise his head. He can look back. The neck creaks with movement. In the morning it is fine, during the day the pain gets worse. Pain on the left hand, thumb mouse, and back of hand. Last year he had muscle pain everywhere, osteopathy and acupuncture do nothing. It got so bad after he had Corona twice. He continues to do a lot, like lugging in the garden. The right shoulder and the left side of the neck are bad. He always has a stiff feeling and with movement a tight feeling. It started with frequent headaches, which is less now. He always walks a little crooked, and all the muscles feel tight. All day, he has muscle pain and nagging pain. He drank a lot of beer, and started sweating at night and sleeping badly, without beer he sleeps better. 10 years ago he quit the business, it was hard work, he did everything himself, he often had lumbago, and his back often hurt a lot. 'In your head, you stay 50' he always takes himself to slow down. Now he maintains a large garden and restores vintage cars. All the symptoms are on the left, the hand, and his eye. He calls himself a âstress man,â he wants to do everything, but it doesn't always work out and he is then dissatisfied. He took over the business from his father at a young age, there was always something to do. At home things are going well, financially it is worrisome but he is laconic about that. In the past, he used a lot of nose drops, panicked when the nose closed, and even went to a psychiatrist, but that didn't help anything. 'Terrible when you can't breathe through your nose.' He has not been vaccinated against the flu or coronavirus on principle. The stools are always ready, when he feels nervous he gets diarrhea. He is bothered by leeks, by cabbage and by a boiled egg. Left foot has a hallux valgus, the pain is like an electric shock.
Analysis
First was searched within Iron series, but both the Q-search search term âleft' and search term 'sleepless alcoholâ within the Fagales did not give a good match, search term âleftâ within the Fabidae gave Elaegnus, this gave no improvement. A different starting point for the analysis was taken: Pain as theme, Asterales, and working and thinking as independent: known from the Lanthanids, this can be extrapolated to the Campanulidae, Cold series6. Retreat as a theme, in this case as a solution of one's own business is known from the Dipsacales. This brings you to 3-66.60 Within this botanical Class, Subphase 5 is recognizable: he wants to keep going, to do new things, to stay busy, to enjoy life (beer, etc). Intestinal discomfort also fits Phase 6. He is stress sensitive, and there is doubt in the way he talks; âcould it be this, could it be that,â fitting for Stage 5.
Prescription: Symphoricarpus racemosa MK.
Follow up
He suddenly noticed he was doing well and after three weeks he was no longer bothered by anything. In the beginning, he had frequent headaches on the left. After three weeks he had a turnaround, suddenly things were much better again. He is doing a lot of chores again, and about the tension: âYou get older, and you can't do everything now, but I can't sit still eitherâ (here we recognize Phase 6 and Phase 5). When he is working on something, he is already finished in his head and then wants to continue with the next thing. He wants to start something new every time. At the end of the day he wants to feel that he has done something useful, which is difficult now after retirement. Always mulling over whether he should sell the house, or get financial security. He doesn't know, what's best. The medicine is repeated, two months later: the complaint had once started on the right and moved to the left after therapy. The muscle pain all over his body is much less, the stitches that move are still there, but if he rubs for a moment they are gone. He also often has a deja vu with dreams. The abdomen may be swollen, pushing on it is painful and he can feel the vein throbbing. The bowel is still restless, but only when tense does he have diarrhea. Tension starts at the stomach area, then radiates upward and then he gets urges. After four months he is doing well, an occasional time when standing up he has a slight headache right on the vertex, that subsides in an hour. He loves life again without the pain now. A period he suffers from hordeolum in the right eye, which can give the feeling of a grain of sand in the night, he had that last year, and now he had a closed eye. He sighs about his cataract en partly deafness, he canât hear all the birds anymore, canât see all the beauty of nature, but he doesnât like spectacles, even his mask during biking.
