Habitat: tropical evergreen forests, mixed woodlands on limestone; at elevations from 200 - 600 metres.
Content: alkaloids brucine 2.81%, strychnine 2.4%.
Use: medicinal.

Botany
Robust climbing shrub; poisonous; climb by means of tendrils and hooks.
Stems up to 20 metres long.
