Case
Girl of just 2 years old.
Recurrent tightness and bronchitis with prolonged coughing showers, squeaking and sawing, mucus does not come loose. Red face and vomiting due to cough.
Three weeks ago also stuffy, later bronchitis with 39.5 fever, got antibiotics. The infection improved but the tightness remained and the fever came back three days before the homeopathic consultation.
During the consultation it is noticeable that she drills extensively and deep into the nose.
In the family a lot of cow's milk allergy, eczema, asthma and bronchitis. Patient had the first bronchitis before the first vaccinations.
She is very easy to develop, understands quickly, talks well, plays with concentration, and has a good ability to put buttons on puppet clothes. She is 'spicy' by which the parents mean that she is quite fierce and can be very angry. Extrovert, sunny, flirt with people. Few fears.
Desires and aversions: she likes everything, is in for something new, eats a lot and fast.
She sleeps lightly, is awake 3-4 times a night and asks for attention at night when she is not fit (shouting, crying, wanting to drink; talking then helps).
There were few very concrete symptoms, so I based myself on the observation: extensive nose picking during consultation. The section in question contains a remedy that suits people who are quick to understand, extroverted and do not allow themselves to eat the cheese from the bread. The lung complaints also turned out to be correct.
Second consultation: The parents have known that this product belongs to spicy types: she slowly recovered, the squeaking may have disappeared a little bit more smoothly than usual, but above all she became very unmanageable. She started a power struggle in an unbelievable way, if she was early she was immediately very coercive, she could get extremely angry or cry cleanly. Everything is 'No', she's hard to convince, doesn't want to go to bed (the literature mentions that intoxication with the plant leads to mania with running and departed faces). The parents do not agree whether this has started since the last period of illness (3 weeks before the first consultation) or since the homeopathic medicine started. Existing symptom or aggravation: in any case, the drug has not improved. The family agrees that the patient looks very much like a mother.
Analysis
I decide, just to be sure, to repeat the drug and have parents call me after two weeks. It doesn't seem to go any better and I give the closely related drug. The reason is that the drug seems to fit the symptoms and the character very well and that I want something close to the remedy.
Follow up
Third consultation: She hasn't been sick anymore, sleeps a lot (>) and has become much more pleasant and sociable. She is still fierce and adrem.
Fourth consultation: The improvement continues well; she hasn't been ill, she sleeps well and seldom has the extreme behaviour as described above.
