Botany
Deciduous shrub growing, ± 4 metres high.
Leaves: opposite, ± 4 cm long, oval, with a rounded apex, green, with a covering of fine silvery, silky hairs, more thickly silvery below than above.
Flowers: pale yellow, four sepals, no petals
Fruit: bright, red fleshy, drupe, ± 5 mm in diameter, edible, bitter taste; symbiosis with fungi, Mycorrhiza.
