Saxifragales

Saxifragales

By Marguerite Pelt, Lelystad

The order of the Saxifragales consists of the following families
Altingiaceae
Cercidiphyllaceae
Crassulaceae
Daphniphyllaceae
Grossulariaceae
Haloragaceae
Hamamelidaceae
Iteaceae
Paeoniaceae
Penthoraceae
Pterostemonaceae
Saxifragaceae
Tetracarpaeaceae

Only four families are known in homeopathy:
1. Crassulaceae
with the remedies Cotyledon umbilicus, Kalanchoe pinnatum, Penthorum sedoides, Sedum acre, Sedum repens, Sedum telephium and Sempervirum tectorum
2. Hamamelidaceae
in this family we only know the remedy Hamamelis in homeopathy
3. Paeoniaceae
with the remedy Paeonia
4. Saxifragaceae
consisting of the remedies Heuchera americana, Hydrangea, Saxifraga granulata and Ribes nigrum

People needing Saxifagales are usually down to earth people which is reflected in their carbonic build. They are simple but also sensitive and are easily appealed by simple beauty. You could associate them with the characteristics of the description of the astrological sign Taurus. They also have something pushy and obstinate. Things have to go their way. Also in love and understanding things have to go their way…

All remedies from the order of the Saxifragales have an effect on the veins: varices, heavy legs, hemorrhoids. On the physical level oxygen rich blood is spread through the whole body but it does not come back to the heart as well as it should. The veins as part of the connective tissue, are considered to be a problem of the Silicea series, where family and relations are important. All remedies in the order of the Saxifragales have problems on the level of the Silicea series, in the veins on the physical level and in the relationship with the family (or an important group) on the emotional level. Analogous to the physical level where blood does not return to the heart, people needing Saxifragales invest and give a lot but do not receive back enough. They have a problem receiving. Love does not stream as well as it should. Here we do not mean the love for a partner (like in Sulphur and the Rosaceae) but a general love for family and relations, a love that idealistically is unconditional….but not in Saxifragales.

Each plant family from this order has his own way of reacting to the unreturned love.
Crassulaceae hoard up water (oppotten). The water protects them from pain from the outside but is also a store (of emotions) in times of need and dryness. Oedema is a physical characteristic and on the emotional level they need family (or a group) around them, just like the offspring of the plants grow in the vicinity of the mother plant.
Hamamelidaceae demand respect but mistake respect for love. They are probably the most rigid and haughty of the family.
Paeoniaceae feel cut off from their roots despite their filled, double flowers. Nostalgia characterizes them.
Saxifragaceae hoard up salt, solidify and harden. Water (or emotions) are petrified in the kidneys.

So in resume, people needing Saxifragales have a carbonic basis and are searching for a healthy relation (of their I) in the family or group. Especially receiving love is difficult for them (veins).
