Pteridophyta
Leptosporangian ferns.
Ferns
There are 35 fern families. Within the ferns there is an enormous morphological diversity. The leaves are large and pinnate, on the underside the sporangies. We prefer to find the ferns in a shady, humid environment.
In homeopathy the male fern (Dryopteris filix -mas) is used. It is called FILIX MAS, made from the fresh rhizome collected in the autumn.
The male fern belongs to the family of Polypodiaceae. Biotope: Netherlands, Northern Hemisphere.
In the Boericke we read:
Worm disease in combination with constipation. Tapeworm. Torpid LYMFKLIERONTSTEPS. Lung tuberculosis in young patients, without fever.
Blindness, facial weakness of one eye.
Painless hiccups. Vomiting and diarrhoea.
Inflated abdomen. Colicky from worms, itchy nose. Pale complexion and blue circles under the eyes.
