Psylliostachys suworowii
Case: woman, 70, rheumatoid arthritis.
She has rheumatoid arthritis since 3 years. Her fingers are painful and stiff, especially in the morning on waking. She has exostoses on the joints, especially on the distal interphalangeal joint of her right index finger. She has stitching pains in her toes with numbness, worse from walking.
She has neck pains, sharp, worse from turning her head to the sides. She has had a tendinitis in left shoulder for half a year. She has dorsal back pain form hard muscles. She has a bursitis on her right hip. It is painful, worse form lying on that hip and after rising from sitting.
She has anaemia, already her whole life. This makes her tired easily and with lack of breath. She has a rash on her cheeks, a rosacea.
In the past she had endometriosis which led to infertility. In her thirties she had a big ovarian cyst. Later her uterus was removed. She has had hoarseness easily. Her throat area is a weak spot, giving throat inflammations and pain. She had carsickness quite strongly.
Work
She has been a teacher for little children. She felt them as too dependent. Later she became the head of a high school. She was decisive as a leader. She likes organising and leading a team. She stopped after a burn out from being in between the directors and the teachers. She had to let them do things she did not agree with.
Later she started working as a coach. She was always interested in people and human sciences. She studied theology. She has done a lot for women’s emancipation.
Marriage
She has been married for 15 years. She divorced him as he was too dependent on her, it felt as a block on her leg. She didn’t want to drag him on anymore. She lacked the freedom to go her own way. She felt unfree, limited. They kept a good relationship after the divorce.
Parents
Her mother was not so loving, not busy with her family. Her mother never could say “I love you”. When her mother died she did not miss her. Her father was a teacher in mathematics. He was always at work.
She is the 4th of 5 children. She had to fight against her elder brothers, who were bullying her. She felt hurt and offended when her brothers were laughing at her. She felt alone in the family, hanging between the older and younger siblings. She had other interest, could not share much with her siblings. She felt as on the edge of the family.
Mind
She is very direct and fast. She has a good and sharp intellect, good insight and overview. She is very decisive, does not give much space to others. She is not the type of house, tree, animal.
She met her guru some 15 years ago. Later she moved to his ashram. Her family was surprised and against it. Spirituality is very important for her, it is path to who she is, becoming a human being as it is meant to be. She hoped to find answers in her study of theology, but in vain. The years before she came for consultation she retired partly from the community, doubting if she would stay, what is her place. This came from conflicts with co-residents, as she was too sharp and direct. Others were afraid of her, her way of reacting. It was the first time in her life that she experienced it as painful.
In general she is too aggressive in words. Other retire from her as they perceive her as threatening. She then has the tendency to make herself bigger.

Plants: fascinated by them, their beauty, the flowers; she prefers wild flowers over cultivated ones; loves to be in nature. Animals: is okay; she had a dog for a while.

Half a year later She is doing fine, has no problems anymore with hip, shoulder and hardly with her hands and back. She has more energy, feels more free and has more space inside herself. Her sleep is better. She is more aware of how she is, how afraid she was for people and being rejected. She is more open for contact, intimacy. She can make contact much more easily. She is more grounded, is more in her own strength.
