ABIES NIGRA
In Boericke we read the following:
Dyspepsia in elderly people, in combination with functional heart problems.
Constipation.
Pain in the stomach that always arises after eating.
Feeling of a painful chunk, as if a hard-boiled egg is stuck in the stomach mouth.
No appetite in the morning, but around noon and at night an enormous appetite.
Slow and heavy heartbeat.
Vithoulkas (Materia Medica Viva) tells us the following:-
Abies nigra can be a good choice for elderly people with poor digestion and a blushing complexion, who drink a lot of tea and smoke a lot, and who are worsened by both, who lie awake all night in spite of a sleepy feeling and who suffer from drowsiness during the day. Devoid of any optimism, they see things as gloomy and are depressed. Abies nigra also suits people who feel that the spiritual functions work like those of an old man. Spiritual suppleness has disappeared, as has the ability to understand and process Hypochondria's ideas. He gets the impression that he has cancer, enhanced by the feeling of a stuck lump, which is mistaken for a tumor.
