The image of being under anaesthesia during an operation, but one can see, hear and feel everything, but one cannot act or do anything. One is hypersensitive to noises. One is totally dependent and handed over to others. The pain is like a torture. One gets a panic, is anxious, a locked-in syndrome. There is no solution, only frustration. People around have no idea of one’s problem and pain.
It is like a mentally handicapped person who can understand everything, but cannot express himself, no one understands him.
