644.55.01 Medicago sativa, Case
Girl, 2, eating problems.
Her weight and height are not increasing. As a baby she was already not drinking very well when breast fed. She vomited a lot, especially in the morning. She is very quickly satisfied. She was hospitalised a few times and fed with a stomach pump. She accepted it but started vomiting. There was no clear diagnosis, there were no allergies or coeliac disease, so the problem was diagnosed as a behavioural disturbance.
Her mother was nauseous the first few months of the pregnancy and after that was busy, felt she was drunk, like having a constant hangover with headache and nausea. She had a lot of stress because of her job which she wanted to do very well and having to take care of the first child. She stopped working but the complaints increased, she had a feeling that her mind did not work properly anymore, that she was speaking at double speed and felt as if she was sinking through her legs. Labour was fast.
Her mother always worked hard. She had her own company at 21, but had a burnout, and had to stop running her company. She could not say no to customers, was working also in the evenings and did not want to disappoint her customers. The mother’s parents were quite similar, having their own company, working hard and long days, impossible to say no to their customers for fear they would lose them in their little village.
She is a very emotional and very active. She likes physical contact.
Her joints are very flexible, her muscles are weak. She can have low fevers and eczema.
Weather: cold hands.
Time: < morning.
Desire: noodles, Nutricia baby diet, spinach, broccoli, salad.
Food: < bread, meat, apples.
Sleep: on her knees, turning a lot, sometimes sitting.
Analysis
The problem seems to arise from the inability to digest her food. She likes to eat but is easily full. This is a typical situation of Medicago. Medicago, also called alfalfa, is giving to animals and horses who do not thrive.
We see the more general theme of their family in the mother and her parents. They work hard, do a lot for others and have the feeling it is never enough. For themselves there is hardly place.
Follow up
One month after Medicago MK she is doing much better. She started eating and drinking and her vomiting was much less. She had had one period of otitis with fever but without feeling ill and pitiful. Her energy has increased a lot and she does not need to sleep in the daytime anymore.
