Behaviour: intermediate between that of carnivores and artiodactyls.
Social: seek out the company of other pigs, and often huddle to maintain physical contact, although they do not naturally form large herds; typically live in groups of about 8 to 10 adult sows, some young individuals, and some single males.
Vision: panoramic,approximately 310°, binocular vision of 35° to 50°; no eye accommodation; colour vision is still a source of some debate; cone cells in the retina with two distinct wavelength sensitivities for blue and green.
