Case 5.17: a boy with encopresis

Age 7 yrs
Complaints
Encopresis. involuntary stool when he plays outside.
Behavior problems: NLD. Restless and impulsive. Contactproblems with peers.
Easily frustrated at school.
Grinding teeth during sleep.
Sometimes he walks on his toes.
Medical history
At age 4 yr recurrent ear infections with high fever (40 grades Celsius).
CMV infection with delirium, swelling liver and spleen, weight loss.
Mind
Behavior problems: NLD. Restless and impulsive. Contactproblems with peers.
Easily frustrated at school.
Agressive, also careful.
Jealous (brother).
Rituals.
Fears: witches, ghosts, crocodiles, dark.
Likes the fairy-tale of Little Red Riding-hood and the wolf.
Lives with his parents and little sister. Age 3,5 yrs: his brother died at 8 months (immune disorder).
General
Desires: chips, cauliflower, broccoli, chicken, meat, sprouts, fish, olives
Aversions: beets, Begian andivia, bread
Thirst: increased.
Sleep: Age 4 yrs: he wanted to sleep between his parents.
