1.1 Hydrogenium, Case 1
A woman of 40 years is confused, feels only half present. She is very occupied with death and her dead father. She doesn’t know it all anymore, doesn’t want anything anymore. Another moment she has the feeling being born again. Nature overtakes her, the cosmic aspect, so she wants to study anthroposophy. She wants to reflect on it, but that makes her crazy. It is as if life comes to her, enters her and she doesn’t know what to do with it. She had a kind of image or dream that she was worm that was crawling into a sphere and that pictures the way how she wants to enter things. She has the desire to run away from it, to hide. She can’t handle it, it is an infinite feeling. When she continues too long or too far with things she becomes chaotic. All is too extensive, too great and she wants to give a place, to share it with others. She is very engaged with nature because nature doesn’t make any demands. She wants to experience it instead of thinking about it as in the past.
She becomes very tired from these thoughts and emotions and it gives her a headache. It feels encased and vulnerable. The pain was at first at the right side but is now at the left side of her head and is worse from coffee.
Generals
Weather: chilly, cold feet.
Desires: nuts (2), peanuts (2), cheese (2), spicy, sour, fruit (2).
Aversion: meat, coffee.
Food: < fat, tea, pears; > milk.
Menses: infrequent, every 6 till 8 weeks; nervous and irritable before menses.
Analysis
Typical words she uses are ‘infinite’, ‘cosmic’, ‘born’ and they are typical for Hydrogenium. This remedy also has the feeling of no boundaries, ‘it enters her all’. The desire to experience things instead of think about them is another strong confirmation. The image of the worm that was crawling into a sphere is a beautiful picture for Hydrogenium, we can see in it the symbols of unification, conception en the entering of life.

Reaction
One month after Hydrogenium 1M she is much more relaxed and not so much engaged anymore with death. She feels herself and can enjoy her life, her vacation and child. She can feel better, doesn’t feel pressed anymore. She has the feeling as if she is reborn. All things still take a lot of energy from her because she has to do it in a new way, has to live through it in another way. She needed a lot of sleep, that gave her inspiration. She has dreamt of people she knew before and has worked problems out with them in her dreams. The headache is much less. The next half year she gets two other doses of Hydrogenium 1M and after that these problems are gone.
