Phobia weakness
Rock Rose (Bach remedies) treats states of intense fear and panic, plus a chronically weakened nervous system. Usually, the Rock Rose state originates in frightening circumstances such as the nearness of one's own or another's death. Frequent nightmares (compare Thymelaceae) are an indication for this remedy as well as fixations and obsessions of a fearful nature, as in phobias or panic disorders. Here, repeated fearful experiences or one-time traumas of fright have become linked with a certain person, object, or circumstance which will trigger renewed fear on contact even when the real danger has passed. In a chronic state of nervousness, especially if there is frequent starting and inner trembling, this remedy is the predominant healer. Prolonged fearful worry, chronic loss of sleep, a hectic, demanding life can bring on a chronic Rock Rose state, basically this being an exhaustion of nerve power.
This description of the Bach remedy is not very specific; it is however very similar to that of Cistus canadensis (same family).
