Gnaphalium polycephalum

666.45.05 Gnaphalium polycephalum, Case
Case by Martin Jakob.
Woman, 45, struma.
She has struma and sciatica left side, worse from cold.
When she feels irritated or stressed the area of her thyroid gland is hot and red, giving a narrowness in the throat and hoarseness.
She feels easily attacked, for example by her landlord and then she has the feeling that this is unfair and she cannot defend herself. This feeling belongs to her childhood; her parents divorced when she was nine years old. Her father went away and there was no contact with him anymore, which she found very hard. There is a lot of anger in her and she is not able to express it in an adequate way. This is connected to her struma. She can react aggressively, becoming insulting and hysterical when she is not able to make her point of view clear. She feels easily criticised and pulls back out of fear that she will get hurt even more. After the divorce her mother started to drink a lot of alcohol. She was never had a support, so she had to become independent very early. Her self-worth is quite low and this is what makes her so vulnerable. Her parents could never give her the recognition she needed, she felt left alone. She feels easily rejected and always had to find ways to get some recognition.
She is angry at her work because they have a duty roster and her boss puts her in for certain days, without prior consultation. This was just the same thing her parents had done with her, she felt helpless and walked over. She would have liked to have more respect and possibilities for her own decisions, she felt overruled her whole life.
She could not be what she wanted. She had resigned and did not believe that she could change this anymore.

In the past she was given Magnesium carbonicum and Holmium iodatum without any result.
