Epifagus virginiana

665.57.11 Orobanche virginianus, Case
Woman, 40, multiple sclerosis.
She has had multiple sclerosis for 3 years. She has attacks with numbness, once of her trigeminal nerve with numbness in her face; once in her left leg.
She has ovarian cysts. Once a cyst had burst and she was operated on quickly.
She was born with a heart septum aneurysm. At 5 her tricuspidal valves were operated on. She was often in hospital for cardiological checkups and operations.
She is an only child. She was always very active, wanted to do sports, but was held back by her cardiologists. She had a very strong connection with her mother, she was fixed on her. Her father was usually absent. Her parents were not communicating with each other, they did not solve their problems; it was comic and frightening. They blame each other a lot. Her mother feels she is the victim of her father. She tried to save her mother.
Later in life her parent’s business did not do well and she supported her parents financially and with advice. She was shocked when her parents told her that they could not and would not pay back the money and she was in debt. Her basic trust was violently shocked, she felt hurt and distant.
Since adulthood she had the feeling that she cannot do anything, cannot fulfill the demands of others. She feels inferior, thinks that others are cleverer. It had to do with living on her own and having no income. Her first relationship she was dependent and could not leave because her partner threatened to commit suicide. She lived for her partner and all her friends told her that the relationship was detrimental to her, that she had to leave. It took her 2 years before she could leave. The relationship after that is very problematic. Her partner is an alcoholic and came from a disrupted family.
She always tried to save others. She also does that in her work as a social worker but her work gives her little contentment because the results are poor and she is paid little.
