Case 1.6
A woman of 50 years has backache. It’s located in the lumbosacral region, with pain points on the sacro-iliac joints. The pains are worse sitting, standing still, lifting heavy things. They are not influenced by heat, cold, walking or lying. The pains are worse the last six months since she has financial problems. Her dental situation is so bad that she needs much dentistry, which will lead to much expenses. And she has no money, living as she is in a spiritual group. She cannot get money from the group, so has to find ways to earn money from outside to repay her debts.
The first time she had a backache was when she was 20. She was working as a student in a factory, swinging boxes of 12 kilo. It was a boring job that she only did to earn money for a holiday. As a student she didn’t have enough money, just a little grant and had to work extra to survive. It felt like a restriction.
As a child the family didn’t have a lot of money. Later her father was doing well. Once she asked her father money, which he refused. Now she doesn’t dare to ask him money anymore. Due to lack of money in her life she developed terrible worries about big debts. On the other hand she can spend money easily, more than she has. She can even be extravagant in spending, like phone calls.
She likes independence.
In the past she has had diarrhoea in India, an amoebe dysentery with loose stools and abdominal cramps.
She has knee pain. Her hearing is disturbed from birth on due to otosclerosis and inner ear deafness.
Dream: missing train connection, due too having too much luggage.
Dream: getting train connection, but having to leave the luggage in the former train because it was too much.
Generals
Weather: -> heat, sunny, dry, <- rain, cold, wind.
Time: > morning.
Desire: vegetarian, cheese, salty, sulphur salt, sour, cucumber, tropical fruits, leechees (3).
Aversion: sweets, meat, white rice, vinegar.
Food: < alcohol, it gives liver pain and a terrible feeling the next day.
Menses: irregular, cramps in abdomen << delayed menses; fibroids.
Sleep: well.
Analysis
The theme of money is a strong one for the Cucurbitaceae. Her desire for cucumber points in the same direction.
Typical is that she has “terrible” financial worries at one side, which indicates the Cucurbitaceae. But at the other side can spend money so easily, as if it slips out of her hands. This “losing” is an indication for Stage 17, which in the Cucurbitaceae leads to Elaterium.

Reaction
After Elaterium MK she feels much better, has much more energy. She says that it has a harmonising effect on or, in the past all felt like jagged, now all feels as smooth. Her financial worries are much less. She has bought an old car that gives her independence.
Her knee pain is almost gone after chiropractor treatment of her pelvis. Her hearing ameliorated such that she hear the clock tick.
Half a year and 5 doses of Elaterium MK later she’s still doing good.
