12.12 Dysprosium sulphuricum case

A woman of 30 years of age has complaints of cysts on her ovaries. She has pain in her ovaries, especially before menses. It’s worse on the left side and better from primrose oil. Her weight is increasing and she has too much hair on her face and breasts.
She has had recurrent cystitis since her 8th year, with a constant burning in her abdomen, better from urination and worse before menses. At the age of 10 she was sexually abused by a servant, but cannot remember much of it.
She has a sharp shooting pain in the lateral upper part of her right breast, worse before menses. Then she’s also depressed and her breasts are swollen.
She has inflammation of the cervix, with white, milky and sticky discharge and pain during intercourse.
She has backache at her 5th lumbar vertebra. This started after the break with her first boyfriend. It was difficult to get over it, a bit obsessive. He was a difficult person who didn't want her to have friends. He abused her psychologically and this disgusted her.
She’s dominating and wants things her way. She could be irritated by her sister, especially her noises. She had an aversion to school because she doesn't want to be told what to do.
She has a fear that people don’t like her and that makes her depressed. She feels useless and of no help to anybody. If she can help someone she will do so, but people sometimes abuse that. She wants to be taken and held. She hates people making fun of he. But she keeps this inside with the feeling that it would be stupid if it upset her. Later it comes out in shouting at her family.
She’s very sensitive to people, knowing if they are good or not. She’s sensitive to smells, wants everything to be clean and people to wash their hands and body.
Her first study turned out to be not interesting and it made her depressed. Later she wanted to go to a fashion school to explore her interest in clothing. She has studied homeopathy.
She‘s the eldest of 3 children. When her sister was born she stopped eating. When her mother told her that she loved her the most, she was always thinking that her mother would say the same to her sister. She often quarrels with her youngest brother, shouting at him to get off the computer.
She’s very close to her father and never shouts at him. She argues a lot with her mother, because they are very similar. They like the same things but at different times. They have miscommunication, from fearing that the other will start shouting.
She has headaches at the vertex, at the left side, worse from touch and wearing something tight. She has stomach ache with bloating and gas, worse from eating bread, cheese and oranges. It extends to her uterus.
Dream: about death, killing and blood, very real, fighting with somebody.
Dream: a group of people become monsters with fangs, they kill a whole village, I’m hiding in the fridge; a kid of those people opened the fridge, I gave him a mango so he wouldn’t tell them that I was there; after that I hid in the bushes, then in the garbage bin, where a guy found me: the leader of the monsters had intercourse with me, which I allowed to save my family.
Generals
Weather: -> cold when it’s hot; -> warm when it’s cold.
hot and cold flushes; warm hands.
Sweat: copious; smelling sour under her arms.
Aversion: Brussels sprouts; sweet and sour; cold drinks.
Food: < bread, cheese, orange.
warm water can induce vomiting in warm weather.
Analysis
The Lanthanide aspect is less obvious than in other cases, but it’s clearly there. She has a strong aversion to being told what to do and hated school for that. She has studied homeopathy. Her dominating quality is an indication of wanting to go her own way, which is typical of Lanthanides.
The dominating as such is not typical of Lanthanides, because they mostly respect others' autonomy. In this case it’s connected with her fighting quality which is also expressed in her dreams. She even has bloody fights to the death. These are typical of Dysprosium.
The problems are closely connected with her desire to be liked and loved. She stopped eating when her sister was born. Her backache started after her relationship was broken. These facts point to Sulphur. Together this leads to Dysprosium sulphuricum.
We can see the remedy as a whole in the situation of her boyfriend (Sulphur) attacking (Stage 12) her freedom (Lanthanides).
Confirmations

Dysprosium: dreams about death, killing and blood; dream fighting.
Stage 16: sensitive to smells, disgust, abused
Sulphur: -> being liked, loved and held, jealous of her sister, -> clothing, -> fashion, disgust, sour smelling sweat, < warm, flushes, stomach ache.
Follow up
After Dysprosium sulphuricum MK she feels much better. She has more energy and has a better relationship with her boyfriend and decided to get married. She has no more fights with her sister and talks with her brother.
As a reaction she had a migraine for 4 days, but none after that. Then she got a fever and her backache aggravated for 2 days and both disappeared after that. With later repetitions she had boils on the left side of her body and pain in her ovaries for a few days.
Nine months later she’s still doing fine. The complaints that are gone are: headache, backache, neck pain, and stomachache. Less severe are the cervical inflammation, breast pain and swelling. Her hair growth is much less hair growth is much less, her PMS is getting better. Her complaints are gone for more than 90%.
She writes: "My mental health is definitely better by far since the remedy. I deal much better with my mother and brother. I have started talking much more openly with both my parents. I don’t feel anger at them and when so it doesn’t last. How I feel about myself has changed tremendously. I view myself in a better light than I did before, which has made me realize a lot of things about the people around me. I feel great and am able to look at life in a positive way."
