Dysosma pleiantha

Region: China, Indochina.
Habitat: damp, humus-rich floors of deciduous forests.
Botany: perennial, rhizomatous wildflowers; stem erect, ± 50 cm tall; leaves single, umbrella-shaped, green or mottled and flecked with purple, entire or deeply serrated edge; flowers are nodding and in a range of colours; fruit a dark red berry.

Taxonomy: some botanists include the plants in the genus Podophyllum.
