Small tree.

Leaves: papery; elliptical; ± 20 cm by 9 cm; bright green, hairless upper surfaces; yellow-green, hairless lower surfaces; tips of the leaves come to an abrupt tapering point about 2 centimeters long; ± 10 secondary veins emanating from either side of their midribs, arch toward the leaf tip and join one another 5 mm before reaching the margin of the leaf.
Inflorescences: 1 to 2 flowers; emerge from extra-axillary positions.
Flowers: white; pedicels 2 centimeter long, erect, hairless, warty, 2 mm long bract at their base and about halfway up their length.
Calyx: sepals round to triangular; 15 by 15 mm, come to a point at their tip; hairless on both sides, often warty.
Corolla: 6 fleshy petals in two rows of 3; outer petals are 3 by 2 cm, have silky hairs on their inner surfaces, and come to a shallow point at their tip; inner petals rhomboidal to oval, ± 5 by 3 cm, covered in sparse hairs.
Androecium: 2.5-3 mm long stamens; 1.5 cm in diameter; connective tissue between the lobes of anthers is overgrown to form a flat cap covered in short hairs.
Gynoecium: ovaries narrow, oval, 1.5 mm long, covered in rust-colored hairs; bristly stigmas are 1.5 mm long.
Pollen: orange; shed as permanent tetrads.
