665.33.09 Cynoglossum officinale, Case
Woman, 50, arthritis.
She has had arthritis for 3 years; since her menopause. A diagnosis could not be made. Recently she had a severe attack, suddenly her knees became swollen and she could not walk up or down the stairs. Gradually her knees became better, but other joints started to inflame. The pains are worse from exertion and wine and better from a warm bath. Her knees feel engorged, as if they will collapse in the evening. She has had a period of intense hip pain and of neck pain. She feels her body lets her down every time she tries to do something.
In the last years she feels tired and her weight has increased because she stopped smoking and her menopause.
She feels she cannot be the person she should be. It is as if nature conspired against her. She feels okay, able to do things, but does not do the push at the very end. She feels invisible, as if people do not notice her. She feels uncomfortable and stays quite withdrawn with people. She does not stand up for herself if someone abuses or insults her. She can only defend when they threaten her children.
She is the third of 4 children. Her mother told her that as a child she was the easiest, never created a fuss. She never felt okay in her family, never as good as the others. In primary school she was dreamy. She felt different, had the feeling that people did not like and love her. She never was the centre of attention, so she felt like a failure. She felt she could not succeed in anything so her family could not appreciate or recognise her. She started several studies, but never succeeded. She studied architecture, but when she was finished the recession set in. She can feel like a child, paralysed, like waiting in a queue.
Hobbies: walking, climbing, gardening, growing vegetables.
Plants: she likes them very much, especially foxgloves, tall ones.
Animals: she is afraid of them, especially horses, although she loves their shape and sensuality.
Weather: < heat; > cool, misty weather; > desert with a hat.
Sweat: a lot, flushes with intense heat, very uncomfortable.
Desire: wine, spicy, chocolate.
Sleep: less < flushes.
Analysis
The main theme is not being seen, being invisible, unnoticed, not recognised, not loved, not appreciated. This is a strong theme for the Boraginaceae.
She feels able to do things, but does not do the push at the very end. This is Stage 9.
Together this leads to Cynoglossus.
Confirmations for the Plant kingdom: desire plants, gardening, sensitive, many perspectives.
Follow up
After Cynoglossus officinalis MK she was ill for 10 days. She slept for 2 days without eating or talking. Then she felt good. She feels more settled, more in herself, more like a grown up, is orchestrating her own well-being. She can make jokes. Her arthritis is much less.
