Cucurbita pepo

Cucurbita pepo
Remedy code: 3-622.65.16.
A 5-year-old boy often suffers life-long from mucus on the chest and has been having a cold for four weeks now. Previously, while abroad (where they lived at the time), he was under treatment and received Phosphor and Belladonna. Currently, it's not too bad, but his mother wants to see if homeopathy can help him further. He has never been a good sleeper throughout his life. In his first year, he had already frequent bronchitis, had often colds, needed inhalers, had a lot of weakness, and was hospitalized several times. When he is exerting himself, you can hear a hoarse sound; he has to stop quickly, but it does not turn into wheezing. Sometimes he has croup; at night, he becomes short of breath, a few times last year, even when it was very warm. He starts coughing, panics develops a seal-like cough, and he begins to cry. Last months, he was tired and had little energy. Falling asleep is fine, but he keeps moving until he falls asleep and wakes up around 1 AM or 3-4 AM. He gets out of bed, and when he sees his parents, he starts crying and is quickly comforted. He is also very restless in his sleep. Last night, he had a scary dream: "Something wants to catch me, birds, a wolf." The pregnancy went very smoothly, but there was some bleeding at the end, and she had to take it easy. That caused tension, "I hope I don’t lose him," and she was very startled. The father was abroad for several months at the time. The delivery went well. He was breastfed for a long time and spent much time in the baby carrier. The child is very enthusiastic, cheerful, humorous, inventive with technology, imaginative, always playing a lot, quickly angry, and quickly crying. He is still very oral, such as licking toys. The mother is sensitive, and the father is also inventive, very independent, and "temperamental." School is going well, but the teacher says he struggles to integrate into the group. He doesn’t like eggs but likes sweets, meat, pasta, apples, and yogurt. The lymph nodes behind his right ear are enlarged. When the parents walk ahead, he is afraid of being abandoned and angrily shouts, "Stay with me." Before this pregnancy, the mother had an ectopic pregnancy, which she didn’t pay much attention to at the time, but later it came up during therapy with a psychologist: the idea of failing, that her body was failing, and fear about whether she could still become pregnant. This pregnancy was not desired by the father, which caused tension, but now he is accepted, and things are going well.

Analysis
Carbon series: The problems began during pregnancy and involved the family, still oral and licking.
Phase 6: Fatigue, not being wanted, being abandoned, the father’s attitude, the father’s absence, and the question of whether you can stay (after the bleeding). Sulfur aspects in terms of appreciation, being loved, and partner dynamics played an important role (placed in Stadium 16, thematically analogous to Phase 6).
Phase 5: Bleeding during pregnancy, normally cheerful and lively.
Stage 16: Not being accepted, not having oxygen (compare Oxygenium compounds, placed in Stage 16).
Stage 16 aligns with the same points as Phase 6.
Raduloideae: left alone, neglected, left alone in hospital, outsider (at school).
Cucurbita pepo: lots of mucus, catarrh.
Prescription: Cucurbita pepo C200.

Follow up
After this, the nasal congestion cleared, his sleep and energy improved. It was noticeable that he wanted now to walk barefoot all the time, whereas normally, every blade of grass would hurt him. In the first weeks, he experienced a lot of itching on his back and head, especially the flanks. He still dreams about being chased. The occasional cough and croup did not return. A year later, the mucus returned with severe pain at his zygoma and he became short of breath again. Lecithin C200 quickly resolved everything, and since then the shortness of breath is gone for good. Discussion: Magnoliidae, the entire Carbon series, has aspects of the Carbon series: themes of ancestors, descent, the body, parents, surviving as an individual, and habitat within one’s bodily boundaries. From case studies, it has been shown that when the foundation of the current situation or complaints lies in pregnancy (and the first months thereafter), this often requires a Magnoliidae prescription, which relates to bodily growth. Another frequently observed possibility in complaints out from pregnancy is prescription from the Lanthanides; this corresponds to this time becoming an independent and autonomous person. Lanthanides respond well when there has been little or no attention or contact with the child during pregnancy, fitting with "standing alone." Based on the most striking aspect of a case, "what is prominently present," "what screams for attention," or "where the focus lies," this leads to the Magnoliidae.
