Buxus sempervirens
Remedy code: 3- 643.17.14
A 44-year-old woman, she feels "worthless." It comes in waves, lasting a few weeks, during which she feels "weak," as if she might faint at any moment, with fatigue, tension around the stomach, and difficulty breathing—it feels blocked on the right side near her chest. A sense of she can’t start up. Sometimes she has headaches, occasionally with light flashes, difficulty speaking, and dizziness, which can last for up to two days. Her blood values are fine. Her voice is flat in tone, and she speaks subdued, but her posture and eyes are driven, radiating enthusiasm, which she also mentions. She sleeps lightly and hears everything from 5 a.m. onward. Every morning she wakes up wondering, "How do I feel, will today work out?" She feels insecure around clients, she can suddenly get warm, and the weak feeling persists throughout the day. She has tension in her neck, feels her muscles tight, also in her arms, and feels too tired to hold her head up. She often experiences severe hair loss. To her, these are vague symptoms, hard to describe, and she keeps meditating on what it could be. She lives and eats healthily and still does her work. She owns a business with employees and feels responsible, which demands her attention. She enjoys being busy. She takes care of everyone, including the children, who all require special care and attention. She is very involved with her children and is upset when they are stressed. They don’t fit in with the group, and feel lonely. She wants to have control over their well-being. She misses the coziness and openness within the family now that they are becoming teenagers. For years, they’ve been looking for a new house, and she’s always been enthusiastic about searching and making plans, but now she’s too tired, working too hard. She often feels like she’s not fully present, longing for rest, dreaming of being able to leave. She feels the pressure as the breadwinner, fearing "What if I collapse?"
Analysis
Iron series3: She comes from a village where everything revolves around "getting things done," and hard work —that’s all natural for her. She works creatively, but the stress is on performance and maintaining the household. The children are a concern, and she focuses on them and family life—themes of Iron series and 3. The children don’t fit well in society, nor do they align with it—these same themes are reflected here. She manages her staff, blending responsibility and care.
Phase 1: Recognized in her enthusiasm, idealism, and exhaustion – also traits of Stage 1.
Phase 7: Wanting to leave, escaping as a solution, fear of collapsing as a burden, children not fitting in, being outside the group.
Stage 14: Powerlessness, lacking strength.
Prescription: Buxus sempervirens C30.
Follow-up
She feels good again, the night after taking the remedy, she slept for 10 hours straight, which was remarkable. The first few days, she often had headaches, felt faint, and weak, with a feeling of "I’ll just stay in bed." Then things improved. Her energy is better, she is more relaxed at work, and can now delay tasks without stress. The stomach complaint is gone, the shoulder pain has disappeared, she no longer has headaches, and she no longer feels the work pressure. After a few weeks, she only did experience more hair loss again. Her menstruation is calmer, no longer heavy bleeding in the first few days. Previously, she only felt obligated, but now she can also give in to the desire to have no motivation at all, and she can take time to rest. Everything remained stable the following year. In the months prior, Trifolium arvense provided slight improvement for a few weeks, and two years earlier, she gained more energy after Physostigma venenosum.
