I get the feeling that I can be punished severely, suddenly, for something that I have done wrong, but I had thought that I had done it right.
The feeling that matters can turn around suddenly, that good can turn around into bad, or bad into good. That welfare can turn into poverty, or poverty into richness. That things can change totally due to earthquakes, winning the lottery, a heart attack, an apoplexy, bankruptcy, floods.
It is the feeling that life cannot be trusted.
It feels of being left alone in difficult circumstances, even by people or authorities who have caused those troubles. It is like people in the province of Groningen, where the houses got ruined due to earthquakes that were the consequence of gas winning, but the authorities did not help them for more than 10 years.
