Absinthium
Botanical
Artemisia absinthium. Absin. Absinthium artemisia. Common Wormwood. N. O. Asteraceae. Europe.
Not to be confounded with Artemisia vulgaris, which is also called wormwood. Tincture of fresh young leaves and flowers. Cultural: Absinth has been an alcoholic drink in the beginning of 20e century. It was a kind of drink like pernot, oozo, licorice drink. Many people got addicted, became crazy like idiots and died. Many artists in France died from it. Lana Turner died from Absinth in a movie. The picture in the homeopathic Materia Medica is colored with the alcohol intoxication.
Mind
Absinthium is one of the best remedies for schizophrenia, chronic psychotic conditions where the patient lives in his own wordd and has little real contact with other people. They have an aversion to contact and company, they prefer they stay on their own. The reason for this is a strong fear that others will hurt them; influence them against their will. It's a strong form of paranoia. They don't trust people, have the idea that all other people want to hurt or destroy them.
They don't want to be touched, looked at or talked to. When others want to make contact, they act weird; give irrelevant answers or no answer at all.
Or they become irritable in words or deeds. They keep people at a distance by threatening them. The threat can be spoken or in the way the act or radiate their aggression. They can even be very unfeeling or cruel. But this is just an expression that they feel that others are cruel to them, that they want to hurt them.
As a doctor it's diffrcult to get contact, the interview is awkward and one can feel threatened by them, as if one wrong question can get them into a rage.

Heart: irregular, beats tumultuous, thumps, tremors, can be heard and felt in back, scapular region. Stomach: uncomfortable, irritated, cold, oppressed, food lies heavy.
