644.41.06 Alnus rubra, Case
Man, 40, rhinitis.
His nose is red and irritated, he has violent attacks of sneezing in the morning after rising that last for 10 minutes. He has a barking cough and itching in the nose. The complaints are worse in spring, from February to June, but come on in autumn, from September to October. It is better abroad but the climate does not influence it.
He works as a technical advisor sales man. He works hard but never takes his work home. He gets on with people easily. He is very organised, his agenda is planned 3 weeks ahead. He cannot stand it when things are changed, but the worst is when he feels disrespected, when he is treated injustly, then he is aggrieved.
He is very definite “no is no and yes is yes”. His father was the same, one had to follow his rules. He learned to walk silently because his father could not stand noise. He cannot stand noise either so his kids have to be silent too, but that is not a real problem.
He likes company, has an aversion to being alone. He liked leading a summer camp for the sports club.
He had pneumothorax, with stitching pain in his chest, behind the sternum. He felt the lungs scraping. He still feels that from time to time, < 11 pm in bed, < respiration.
From 5 to 20 he had eczema, right-sided, pimples and vesicles on his hand and between the fingers and dry eczema in the hollow of the elbow.
He has had all the children’s diseases.
Dream: none.
Weather: -> fresh air, -> storm.
Time: < morning, 7 am, < spring, < autumn.
Desire: sweets, chocolate.
Aversion: mixed-up food.
Food: < apple !, fruit, peach, pear.
Analysis
The allergies often point to the right remedy, in this case the alder points to Alnus. This remedy is from the Betulaceae and the order of the Fagales. These are very practical and achieving people.
Iron series: technical man; works hard; follow his rules.
Carbon series: eczema
Phase 4: no is no and yes is yes.
Fagales: eczema.
Alnus: < alder.
Follow up
One month after Alnus glutinosa MK he is doing much better in general, in his energy and how he feels. As a reaction an old pain returned at the right front side of his chest for a few days.
Then an old eczema in the bend of his right elbow came back for a day or two, together with a very runny nose.
Three months and 2 doses of Alnus later he is doing quite well. The attacks of sneezing are less lengthy and less violent. He has more air. He can accept changes better, does not feel so dishonoured anymore.
