Region: east Asia, southern China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia.
Habitat: mixed forests; elevations from 0 - 1,200 metres; open to dense, primary and secondary forests; scrub-jungles, along river-banks

Taxonomy
Botanists disagree if Roureopsis should be transferred to the genus Rourea.
We are, for the present, allowing Roureopsis to stand
Synonym: Rourea emarginata

Botany
Usually a climbing woody plant; vigorous, twining stems up to 25 metres long; sometimes more shrub-like habit with more or less scrambling branches.
