Region: tropical Africa, Mauritania, Senegal to Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania.
Habitat: savannah, coastal bushland, woodland, thickets; riverine, near rivers; on dry hillsides, forest margins; from sea level to 1400 metres; clay soils, seasonal inundation
Use: fruits as raw food; roasted fruit as a coffee; fruits for cosmetics face mask; tree for fences; dried leaves for vegetable; medicine; cosmetic.
