Case Dioscorea villosa
Woman, 59 years old.
By way of introduction; it concerns a brother and sister of 56 and 59 years old. The particularity of the family situation is that of the 10 children, only four are married and the other six have continued to live together in the parental home. Of these six, two sisters and three brothers have a joint home furnishing business. Of the above two, the sister has already stopped working for some time for health reasons, while the brother has ceased to play his part in the fancy business for some years now. The situation is to everyone's satisfaction, all the more so because they have built up a thriving business. The brother: "We have done a very good job". The sister; "Doctor, you are far too cheap. You are still far too idealistic". Both also insist on paying in black, probably to help me get some more cash.
At first, the sister turned to me, always accompanied by her younger sister.
In January 1987 she had surgery for intestinal adhesions, after having developed an ileus image. Before that she had already had three years of complaints of rumbling in the abdomen (especially during dinner) and at times a painful and sensitive abdomen. Frequently she had a big belly since she was 10th, due to gas accumulation. In this same period the Mantoux reaction turned out to be positive (the war years).
The further history mentioned;
50 appendectomy
'75 epilepsy
'80 hysterectomy
'81 bladder sagging
'83 cardiac arrhythmias
'87 the already mentioned OK
She had also had frequent cystits since '75.
It is worth mentioning that the epilepsy complaints arose six weeks after the death of her father, who had cared for her for the last six years of his life. All these years she had feared that her father would have a CVA or a heart attack. But she felt it was her duty as the eldest daughter to take care of him, all the more so because she thought other forms of nursing were bad. In general she is at her best when there are difficulties. After that she gets problems, manifesting herself in crying showers, for example. She doesn't show this, she prefers to withdraw.
She is very neat, always has to have her work done compulsively and can't sit still. Very strong sense of duty. Afraid of illness, being alone.

Follow up
With Dioscorea villosa D30 1x per week, received from my "predecessor" it had gone well for a long time. Her granules had already been used up for a while and now the complaints came back anyway, hence the same Rx in a C200.
20.3.'89, one month after the first consultation. Initially went very well again, but the complaints will come back. We decide to change to another Dioscorea villosa (C1000).
More than a month later (26.4.'89) the symptoms return to a small extent, Dioscorea villosa (C1000).
No more complaints since then. She is doing well, according to her brother, who is also consulting me in the meantime.
