Depicting a white carpet of grief, snow-drops cover the graveyards of England. These flowers are a symbol of comfort, hope, gratefulness and friendship. They seem sober, pure and quiet. They are the first bulbplants to blossom right out of the melting snow. There are 19 sorts of Galanthus and more than 500 cultivars. The uncultivated sorts come from Turkey. Galanthus nivalis easily goes wild. Gale is ‘milk’ in Greek (Milk refers to the color), Anthos means’flower’ and Nivalis is the latin for ‘looks like snow’.

Narcissus poeticus.
Name: Narcissus poeticus. Abbreviation: Narc-po. English: Daffodil German: Narzisse
French: Jonquille Dutch: Dichters narcis Source: Allen, Murphy Stage: 14
According to our homeopathic literature the name of the plant, Narcissus is not from that of the fabled youth who fell in love with his own image reflected in the water, but is from the Greek Narkao, "to be numb", on account of the narcotic properties of the drug. An extract of the bulbs applied to open wounds has produced staggering numbness of the whole nervous system and paralysis of the heart. It is an emetic, and serves most usefully for relieving the congestive bronchial catarrh of children.
The alkaloid from the bulbs after flowering produces copious salivation, increases cutaneous secretion, contracts the pupil of the eye, produces slight relaxation of the pulse and slight faintness and nausea. Daffodil bulbs contain an alkaloid the action of which, according to authorities, varies as to whether the alkaloid is extracted from the flowering bulb or from the bulb after flowering.
According to aromatherapy the fragrance is used to enrich love. Narcissus poeticus is white, stands alone on a stem and smells lightly. Mind

In homeopathy authors have a tendency to repeat each other (copy and paste). The same set of symptoms are mentioned by different authors under Narcissus poeticus and Narcissus pseudo narcissus. The remedy pictures are probably quite similar. In analogy to the appearance of the plant, one could imagine Narcissus poeticus is indicated more often in slender and refined people, standing alone. The Narscissus pseudonarcisus has a yellow trumpet, is smaller an groes wild more easily.
