Asparagales are quite similar to Liliales. People needing these remedies have the same themes: -Restlesness and activity
-High goals
-Purity or the polarity sexuality/shamelessness and on the physical level
-Problems in the pelvic region
-Problems of the acra
-Fainting and weakness
Liliales try to work out the connection between heaven and earth, try to balance the spiritual and the filthy lucre (het slijk der aarde). Hence the problems in the pelvic region (=earthbound) and the sometimes excessive high goals, purity and faintness (=cosmic).
Asparagales bring in a second dimension. Not only the vertical connection between spirituality and animality is at stake, but also the horizontal connection, the embracement of mankind. This is symbolised by the cross. In the body the center of the cross is the heart.
Unlike Liliales, in Asparagales there is an emphasis of the symptomatology in the heart region (Convallaria, Galanthus, Asparagus, Crocus, Squilla maritima) and in the stomach (Narcissus, Ornithogalum, Irisis). Heart and stomach can both be seen as representatives of the fourth chakra symbolising love and harmony. Love and harmony are sulphuric themes.
In the Alliaceae and Aparagaceae (families of plants containing Sulphur) these sulphuric themes are observed in patients with problems in the relation with the partner in the sense of cheating and betrayal. The weight of he problems is different than in Rosaceae where the patients are much more dependent in the relation or the Oleaceae where the patients struggle with the act of betrayal and not so much the morality. In Asparagales it is much more the question: ‘What is the position of the individual horizontally and vertically? Not only in the relation with a partner, but also versus God? How can the person find peace with himself and act in a moral and pure way towards others?’
Asparagales should be differentiated from Magnesiums, also searching for a balance between love and hate, and advocates of peace. But like all minerals the problems of Magnesiums is more on a one- dimensional level and people needing these remedies approach the world in a structural way.
Asparagales can look like Lanthanides in their sense of duty and service, as well as their introspective qualities (the possibility to look at oneself) and problems with the heart, but there is no inclination to control oneself or the susceptibility for immune diseases in Asparagales.
Asparagales are also of use in posttraumatic stress situations (particularly Ornithogalum and Narcissus) where the individual has to find himself and his own identity although he is desintegrated. Especially in sexual abuse, there is often a basic insecurity, a negation of sexuality and a disturbance of the lower chakras (pelvic region). There is an overemphasis of the pure and spiritual (like Liliales) and a problem in accepting and connecting on a deeper level with fellow man (the horizontal axis). In the worst case (sexual) abuse leads to desintegration and multiple personalities. Asparagales are a help in the proces of integration, of becoming one (monocotyle) and defining your own bounderies in an abusive world by staying in your center, by staying strong in your heart.

Unless the mind, body, and spirit are equally developed and fully integrated, no spiritual peak or state of enlightenment can be sustained. This is why extremist religions and ideologies do not bear fruit. When the mind and spirit are forced into unnatural austerities or adherence to external dogmas, the body grows sick and weak and becomes a traitor to the whole being. When the body is emphasized to the exclusion of the mind and spirit, they become like trapped snakes: frantic, explosive, and poisonous to one's person. All such imbalances inevitably lead to exhaustion and expiration of the life force. True self-cultivation involves the holistic integration of mind, body, and spirit. Balancing yin and yang through the various practices of the Integral Way, one achieves complete unity within and without. This manifests in the world as perfect equilibrium, and perfect grace.
