Betula pendula (treurberk)
In phytotherapy Betula pendula is known for skin problems: eczema, psoriasis, falling out of hair and dandruff.
The blaDDer and kidneys are target organs: stones, inflammation. Diabetes mellitus, gout and artherosclerosis are also mentioned. The remedy stimulates sweating and helps in fevers.
The tree contains Kalium and Calcium besides
vitamine C, saponines and tannin. The methyl salicilate of the birch explains its painkilling, antiphlogistic and diuretic effect.
The Betula pendula grows on sand. Other birches can grow on poor soil and are real pioneers. They will grow as the first trees after earthquakes or radiation accidents. Birches could be remedies after shock.
