Cordyceps sinensis
Name: Cordyceps ophioglossoides; Ophiocordyceps sinensis.
English: Caterpillar fungus, deer fungus, club-head fungus. Content: Proteins, carbohydrates, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, uracil, uridine, adenine, adenosine, antibiotic and anti-tumour compound.
General: Immunostimulating, phagocyte stimulating activity, antibiotic effects, antifungal; prolongation of lifespan against lymphoma and lung cancer, debility, anemia, tiredness.
Nervous: sedative and hypnotic action, tranquiliser.
Lungs: bronchospasm, asthmatic, persistent cough, phthisis.
Heart: hypercholesterolemia, arrhythmias.
Abdomen: liver and spleen atrophy; chronic obstructive hepatic diseases.
Male: sexual hypofunction, loss of sexual drive, impotence and seminal emissions with aching of loins and knees.
Female: metrorrhagia, abnormal menstruation.
